Sir Paul McCartney plays four summer gigs

Sir Paul McCartney has announced that he will perform at four outdoor UK shows this summer, including shows at London’s Hyde Park and an appearance at the Isle of Wight festival.

The other two shows will be at Glasgow’s Hampden Park and Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, which coincidently will be his first show in Cardiff in the last thirty years.

Tickets for each of the stadium shows will go on sale March 8th, tickets for Hyde Park went on sale on March 5th, and the Isle of Wight tickets are already available with all shows scheduled to take place over the month of June.  In 2009 Sir Paul only played one show in the UK at the London O2 arena so ticket sale anticipation is high for his upcoming performances.

The line of UK shows will kick off as he appears as the headliner for the Isle of Wight festival on Sunday June 13th before heading to Scotland, Wales, and then Finally London on June 27th.

Sir Paul stated that his appearance in Cardiff will be a blast for everyone, thanking them for waiting so long for the chance to see him live again.  He also added that the last time he was in Cardiff was with Wings, so there is a lot of catching up to do and that his band and he will rock the stage at the Millennium Stadium.

Alex Luff, the stadium venue sales manager for Millennium, stated that the show will be a large coup and help uphold its reputation as a must play venue.
